A battle between the UK’s top-selling small cars, the Vauxhall Corsa and the Ford Fiesta, we are here to see the differences and similarities between the two and to find out which one really is best. The models we will be talking about are the latest models, so the 2017 Ford Fiesta and the 2019 Vauxhall Corsa.
Both of the vehicle’s interiors are sleek and modern. Even the most basic of specifications of each vehicle feature high tech systems such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the seats in each vehicle is very comfortable. Higher specifications of the cars both include the option of having leather seats. It is safe to say that both of the models definitely have the fun factor, but the Fiesta has a slight advantage as its digital screen is placed at an easier to view level than the Corsa’s digital screen.
There is not much difference between the boot space of the two vehicles. The Corsa’s boot space is 309 litres and the Fiesta has 303 litres. However, if having 6 extra litres of space is important to you, then the Corsa is the better option.
Many people say that a Ford Fiesta is easier and funner to drive than a Vauxhall Corsa, maybe this is because Ford Fiestas are known for being boy racer cars and Vauxhall Corsa are usually a bit more laid back in their driving ability. It is fair to say that it is a good idea to test drive both models to see which is easiest to drive or most comfortable to drive, as sometimes it is really down to personal preference.

The Vauxhall Corsa is much better equipped than the Ford Fiesta, as it does include parking sensors and reversing camera in some specifications. The Fiesta does not include these parking aids, so based on this, the Corsa is the easiest to park because of its parking aids. This is specially important for new drivers. However, it is debatable whether parking aids are needed on small cars, it is really down to whether a driver feels that he or she needs them.
Research showed the petrol range of the Ford Fiesta is 46-57mpg and the diesel version has the range of 54-65mpg. The petrol Corsa has a range of 45-54mpg and diesels have a range of 62-70mpg.
Both vehicles have very low running costs, as insurance and road tax is always very low, so the cars are ideal for those who do not want to spend lots of money on running a car.
The Corsa is available as a fully electric car and this is something that the Fiesta is yet to offer. So, if you are looking for a pure electric small car, then the Corsa is the winner.
It is fair to say that the best feature of the all-new Vauxhall Corsa is that it is available as an all-electric car, this is because it is revolutionary and it is one of the first small yet affordable cars to be available as a fully electric car. The best feature of the Ford Fiesta is that it is very nice to drive and many car enthusiasts have commented on how fun it is to drive also.
Our winner has to be the Vauxhall Corsa! Whilst both the Corsa and the Fiesta are similar in their build, shape, boot size and running costs. The Corsa has the edge because the new design of the Corsa is innovative and they even have an electric version out on the market, so it shows the all-new Corsa is definitely here to stay!
